Bruno's Little Italy is the newest Main Street restaurant in Downtown Little Rock. The original Bruno's opened in 1948. Now, Vincent and Gio Bruno are following in the legendary footsteps of their father, Jimmy Bruno. The décor is decidedly nostalgic with red checkered table cloths, warm woods, and lots of signed photos of the famous and near-famous who haven eaten Jimmy Bruno's food over the years. It is busy, busy, busy every night but the wait is generally not unpleasant especially if you take advantage of the full bar and excellent wine list. Once you are seated, service is outstanding and the food will probably be all you hoped for and more. Be aware in advance that these are family recipes ... don't go expecting fancy "new Italian" artfully displayed pasta. When you order spaghetti and meat balls, you get spaghetti and meat balls. There are incredible shrimp dishes and entrees in light sauces appealing to a wide variety of pallets.
An outdoor café-style space is available effectively expanding the seating capacity. Small white lights in the trees that line the outdoor area lend a magical charm to the downtown city street. Bruno's is only open for dinner and Main Street gets quiet after dark so the dining ambiance is enhanced rather than disturbed by the cityscape. Parking is nearby and abundant and Third and Main is just minutes from Rosemont Inn and Rosehaven Cottages guaranteeing that our guests are already beating a path to Bruno's door.
